SIGN OF THE HARD TIMES

Desperate times, my thrifty friends, when the local second hand haven has to advertise that it is, indeed, still in business and the rumors of its demise are greatly exaggerated.

Soldier on, thrift store warriors.

Blimey! I'm surprised to hear that. Around here they seem to be doing a booming trade - the elderly ladies running the shops (and they are always elderly ladies - are all the men dead?) look positively worn out.

And of course I didn't hear that... I read that. On your blog. Honestly, sometimes it's like my brain has dripped out of my ear.

I love thrift store promotional signage. My favorite shop occasionally whips out a ginormous yellow sign: "Moonlight Madness! Savings That Will Make You Howl!" I mean they close at 8 pm, how wild is it gonna get...

BTW, your blog cracks me up. I'm gonna add you to my blogroll, and would be honored if you'd add me to yours!

Hilarious! Your comments, so droll. I AM a tenacious thrift store shopper myself. Our vacations always include stops in out-of-the-way places where we ask for a phone book to look up local thrift stores. So many locals don't seem to have a clue!

Rock on Salvation army! I guess a few of us will just have to thrift to keep them in business. Oh twist my arm...

This is a weird shot. I've noticed the thrift shops around me have blown up w/ patrons in the past couple years.
